Circle the Cirque Crest
Day 9 Saturday, September 12, 2004
We had a pretty pleasant camp spot in Paradise Valley and a lot of deer
frequented the area and were not afraid of us at all. This is probably due to the
crowds that use this area in the summer. We were anxious to get back to the trail head for showers and a good meal so we broke camp early and only stopped once, at Mist Falls, to take photos. I must say that in my opinion, this section of trail down to the parking lot is nothing but CRAP. The horses have beat the trail into dust and it was not pleasant walking at all. I will NEVER use this trail again unless itr is absolutely necessary to get somewhere else. Paradise Valley, my A**. We bought showers near the lodge at Cedar Grove as soon as we got back to the truck. This is pretty convenient as we were filthy dirty from hiking in the dust cloud all morning. We stopped in Fresno on our way back to Sacramento at Red Robbin for hamburgers and strawberry lemonade. This was a great trip. No rain for 9 straight days, unbelievable fishing, beautiful high country lakes, and we had the place pretty much to ourselves. |
