John Muir Trail 2003 Brian and I hiked the John Muir trail starting in Yosemite Valley August 24th and ending in Whitney Portal on September 11th, a distance of 222 miles. We met and started hiking with two hikers from Southern CA at Red's Meadows, another Brian and Dave. Dave's partner, Brian dropped out at Vermillion Resort but Dave continued on with us to the end.
